Classic Beef Burger

Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef — 80/20 fat ratio preferred
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 4 cheddar cheese slices
- 1 tomato — sliced
- 1 lettuce head — leaves separated
- 1 red onion — thinly sliced
- 4 tbsp burger sauce or mayonnaise
- salt and black pepper — to taste
Instructions

Mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly wider than your buns. Make a small indent in the centre of each.

Heat a cast iron pan or grill over high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium, pressing gently only once.

Place a cheese slice on each patty in the last minute of cooking. Cover the pan briefly to melt.

Toast the buns cut-side down in the pan for 1 minute.

Assemble burgers with sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, patty, and top bun. Serve immediately.
